Mr. Hatfield

Sweetwater High School
Hello. Hola. Kamusta. Ni hao. My name is Leigh Hatfield. I grew up in the Southern California town of Idyllwild, high in the San Jacinto mountain. After graduating from our small local high school as one of 28 seniors, I went to UCSD for college with about 10,000 other freshmen. It was a big change, but UCSD had, and still has, a thriving Drama department. I immediately jumped into my passion for Theater Arts. After graduating in 1980, I looked for myself in various jobs, the salmon fishing industry in Alaska, retail sales at Nordstrom, and set construction in the Old Globe theater. Eventually, I realized I should be teaching. In 1991, I begain teaching English and Drama at Castle Park High School. In 2003 I transferred to Sweetwater High School where I also taught Computer Science. After many wonderful years at Sweetwater, I look forward to several more before I retire. In the Fall of 2022, I became the drama teacher and expect the Suhi Drama Department to reach great heights in the coming years. |
